Thank you for your interest in working with us at Finca Bellavista and contributing your energy to making this special place possible! These positions are ideal for people that want to experience a different culture, a different country, warm up during winter, learn Spanish, or just take a break from the “real” world. This is an ideal situation for students, teachers, and seasonal employees that have longer chunks of time available outside of typical work schedules. We strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for people to explore the area, contribute to our community and surrounding communities, and to grow their interests and talents in new ways.

The majority of the duties within the volunteer program are meant to enhance the guest experience at Finca Bellavista. We are in the process of transitioning the volunteer program into a support branch of The Bellavista Initiative, the non-profit branch of our community.

We currently require a minimum of two months for many reasons, including acclimatization to the weather, learning the ins and outs of the finca, and reducing the transient nature of the finca's volunteer program. Exceptions to this rule can be made, but we will need good reasoning and can accept an absolute minimum of a one-month time commitment. We have space for 4 volunteers at a time in our bunkhouse, and all volunteers must contribute $100 per week for food (3 delicious homemade meals per day!). You will receive a PayPal invoice to cover these expenses, and it is considered to be a non-refundable deposit to hold your space on the calendar.

You will need to speak Spanish here, as we cannot accommodate volunteer placements for people that are unable to communicate without a translator.
